Announcement

Community Futures Cedar Lake Region is excited to announce the 2023-2024 Investing in Our Futures Grant Program!

Between January 2022 and November 2022, CF Cedar Lake awarded almost $142 thousand dollars in grant money to 33 projects in our region. “While we have funding to run the program again, we have modified it so that we can offer it over a number of years,” commented Joe Cote, General Manager of CF Cedar Lake. “The program had enormous impact on the groups who received grants. We saw a new wheelchair ramp and stairs installed at The Pas and Area Animal Shelter, upgrades to the public swimming pool in Birch River, first aid training at the Barrows Community Centre, and a new firehall washroom shower in Cormorant, to name just a few projects. Based on the success of the previous Investing in Our Futures Grants, CF Cedar Lake is able to offer the program again,” continues Cote.

This year, projects submitted for consideration will be funded on a matching basis, up to a maximum of $2,000. The grant is open to community councils, community organizations, First Nations organizations, non-profit groups, and schools, all of which must be located in the CF Cedar Lake service region. For-profit businesses and business organizations are not eligible to apply.

Preference will be given to first time applicants; however previous grant recipients are welcome to apply, providing the funds will be used toward a new project and not one that was previously funded.

IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:
• August 16, 2023 – Launch of the Investing in Our Futures Grant Program
• February 1, 2024 – the deadline to apply for the grant, or as long as the funds are available.
• April 1, 2023 to March 1, 2024 – the eligible dates for project expenses to be incurred.
• March 15, 2024 – Final report with photographs and receipts to be submitted.
