The method of appointing the Community Futures Triple R Board of Directors is detailed in the Corporation's bylaws.
Board members may be nominated by a municipal government annually for a term not to exceed nine consecutive years. If this maximum has been realized, the Board member must take a one (1) year minimum hiatus from the Board of Directors. Board members will be required to complete a minimum of one (1) Board Module each year either by training sessions offered by Community Futures Triple R Corporation or online. The training costs will be paid by Community Futures Triple R Corporation but not to include travel, meals or honoria.
All municipal governments will be required to nominate an alternate to the Board of Directors, also requiring acceptance. Alternate members may be nominated by a municipal government annually for a term not to exceed nine consecutive years. If this maximum has been realized, the alternate member must take a one (1) year minimum hiatus from the Board of Directors. The maximum term will include any years the alternate might have been the nominated member. The alternate is required to attend a minimum of one (1) meeting per year either as the representative or as an observer.
The board appointments shall strive to meet the following criteria;
1.) The board shall consist of the member councils in good standing.
2.) Each board member shall be appointed by the municipal councils in the regions.
3.) The Board members shall be community minded, thought of well within their community, have a sense of strong businesses practices, and make decisions for the betterment of the entire Triple R region.
4.) Strive to be of equal representation of male and female members as deemed reasonable
5.) Represent as many ethnic/economic/linguistic and stakeholder groups as deemed reasonable
The Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that the organization is operated in accordance with Board approved:
- Strategic plan and implementation regime.
- Yearly operating plan as required by Western Economic Diversification.
- By-laws
- Policies and procedures.
