What we do

Mission and Vision

What is Greenstone?
Community Futures Greenstone is an initiative of the federal government, specifically the Community Futures Program. This program allows communities in need to be the designers, leaders and directors in solving long term community concerns. The program gives communities the tools they require to address these problems and helps them plan a coordinated response to the demands of the changing economy.

Our Mission Statement
To invest in the future of our region by fostering economic growth, innovation, and diversification.

Our Vision Statement
To inspire collaborative projects that will unite the north, strengthen our capacity for community building, and harness the power of entrepreneurial spirit.

What do we do?

We offer a wide range of business loan options, training courses, personal business coaching and networking events. Most of these services are either free or available for a small fee.

We are focused on the rural entrepreneur; foster entrepreneurial youth; as well as the disabled individual, those persons with a disability or ongoing medical condition, with an entrepreneurial target.

We are also committed to increasing community and regional capacity through economic development activities such as facilitating strategic planning processes and project development; researching and providing funding information for projects and programs, researching and making recommendations on strategic opportunities and by promoting the region to expand development.
