The Corporation shall be governed by a Board of Directors comprised of persons elected/or appointed by member municipalities.

 The Corporation shall be governed by a Board of Directors comprised of no fewer than 3 and no more than 14 Directors.

 Municipal Councils shall nominate directors from persons residing in the respective municipal areas as follows:

  • City of Winkler
  • City of Morden
  • RM of Stanley
  • RM of Thompson & RM of Roland
  • RM of Lorne
  • RM of Dufferin & Town of Carman
  • Municipality of Norfolk Treherne & RM of Victoria
  • City of Portage la Prairie
  • RM of Westlake – Gladstone
  • RM of Alonsa & RM of Glenella – Lansdowne
  • RM of North Norfolk
  • RM of Pembina
  • RM of Grey

The ownership and control of the Corporation is vested in the Board of Directors, who represent a cross-section of geographic and sectorial interests from throughout the region. The Corporation will strive to have gender balanced representation.  Composition of the board will aim to represent at a minimum the following sectors:

  • Education / Training
  • Finance
  • Tourism
  • Agriculture
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Youth
  • Economic/Community Development

The Municipal Councils shall nominate the Directors.

Board members may be nominated by a municipal government annually for a term not to exceed nine consecutive years. If this maximum has been realized, the Board member must take a one (1) year minimum hiatus from the Board of Directors 

All municipal governments will be required to nominate an alternate to the Board of Directors.   Alternate members may be nominated by a municipal government annually for a term not to exceed nine consecutive years. If this maximum has been realized, the alternate member must take a one (1) year minimum hiatus from the Board of Directors. The maximum term will include any years the alternate might have been the nominated member.  The alternate shall have all the duties and responsibilities as if he/she were the regular board member.
