Business Development Services

Community Futures North Central Development (CFNCD) provides individuals wishing to start, purchase or expand small businesses with Technical and or Financial Support Services.

Technical Support Services: CFNCD offers many services to new entrepreneurs and existing business owners. We offer access to resource and research material as well as provide general management consultation and assist in the development of business plans and cash flow projections.

Financial Support Services: We offer a range of flexible and affordable financing options to support new and expanding businesses, including specialized programs for Indigenous entrepreneurs and individuals with disabilities.

• Business Loans: Up to $150,000 for start-ups, expansions, or business purchases. Available through our Regular Loan Fund and the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program (EDP). Applicants are encouraged to first seek financing through traditional lenders prior to applying for funds.
• Microloans & Grants: Indigenous Women’s and Youth Entrepreneur Programs offer microloans up to $25,000, with up to 45% forgivable.
• Grant & Mentorship: Early-stage Indigenous entrepreneurs can access up to $3,000 in grants plus business mentorship.
• Loan Features: Fixed interest (Prime + 2–6%), open terms with no repayment penalties.

CFNCD supports vibrant, sustainable communities by helping bring local development ideas to life. We partner with communities to plan and deliver projects that create jobs, improve services, and enhance quality of life.

Our support includes:

• Project Development & Coordination: From tourism initiatives and daycare facilities to food systems, recycling, and scrap metal removal — we help communities plan and implement meaningful projects.
• Long-Term Planning: We work with communities to develop and carry out long-term economic development strategies.
• Capacity Building: We assist community groups, non-profits, and associations with:
