Angling in Parkland

Within a year of opening their Dauphin fishing gear store in 1995 John and Tracy Yury decided they wanted to shift gears and focus solely on the sport of fly fishing. With the help of Parkland CFDC, they were able to move full scale into a different market by not only selling fly fishing products, but offering instruction and guiding tours as well.

Since approaching Parkland they have been successful in attracting many fisherman -- both experienced and novice -- to the region. Their business has grown to include six employees and boast an 800-page website of available products and services. Through their vision and with the help of Parkland, the Yurys have successfully diversified the local tourism industry by taking advantage of a previously untapped market.
