Entrepreneurship Coordinator

Full time – 3-year Term

As a member of the Community Futures Parkland team, the Entrepreneurship Coordinator (EC) is focused on the delivery of projects, programs, and other initiatives that support rural entrepreneurship. The EC will lead the organization’s client and youth entrepreneurship events, workshops, training, and grant programs.

CF Parkland is seeking a solution-oriented individual who enjoys working with a small team in a dynamic start-up environment with opportunity for autonomy, creativity and leadership.

Core projects include:

  • Managing and coordinating new and existing regional and community entrepreneurship projects
  • Writing proposals to secure funding opportunities for entrepreneurial focused programs and projects
  • Leading and implementing regional youth entrepreneurship initiatives
  • Develop positive relationships with government and community organizations
  • Providing general support to programs; duties include research, initial data analysis, correspondence, project planning, program activity coordination, partner coordination, and maintaining program databases
  • Collaborating with program team on insight gathering to inform new program development and program improvements
  • Confirming and prepare for events, including speaker prep, compiling presentation materials as needed. Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Involvement in internal and external communication for programs, including community info sessions on CF Parkland services
  • Preparation and/or delivery of presentations and info/training sessions
  • Providing business coaching, support and resources to clients
  • Providing administrative support for our business department

  • Experience or education in a related field
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to self motivate and take initiative; ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and inclusive environment
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy and organization
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Experience in delivering customer service or managing relationships
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship including familiarity with business plans, cash-flows, the unique challenges that rural entrepreneurs face, and the value of what small business means to the Parkland region
  • Builds rapport and cooperation with persons inside and outside the organization
  • Maintains a network of contacts that can provide information and assistance
  • Able to identify and anticipate a problem, analyze the situation and various perspectives, ask for help as needed, offer and/or seek assistance in order to identify solutions and, when appropriate, decide on and implement a course of action
  • Ability to adjust style and approach according to environment and audience
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the creation of an environment that is support-oriented, creative and insights-driven
  • Excellent facilitation skills, experience and/or comfort in presenting to a variety of audiences
  • Experience preparing, revising, and presenting curriculum is a plus
  • Access to vehicle and enjoys a bit of travel with your work (compensated)
