Women’s Entrepreneurship Program Manager

Reporting to CF Parkland’s Executive Director, Jami Turetsky, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Program Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, tracking, and administrative reporting of the program. We’re looking for someone who can step into an immediate role with responsibilities that will ensure the success of this 4-year, federally funded program. Community Futures Parkland (CFP) is a business and community economic development organization working for the Parkland region of Manitoba. CFP received funding from Western Economic Diversification Canada’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy. The funding will be used to create a program that will address gaps and build capacity in rural and northern Manitoba’s entrepreneurship ecosystem for women-business owners. Working in partnership with CF Greenstone, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Program Manager will provide women in Dauphin and surrounding communities with opportunities to explore and succeed in entrepreneurship through a broad range of programming including:

  • presentations
  • workshops and training programs
  • mentorship
  • resource materials
  • celebrations of milestones and accomplishments
  • coworking
  • business incubation
  • formalized networking

Role Summary

Our Program Manager is a person who understands barriers faced by women entrepreneurs. They will also understand what is to be gained by including diverse women more fully in the local, provincial, and national economic ecosystem. The role requires a deep understanding of entrepreneurship in rural, remote, and/or northern contexts. The Program Manager will become the point of contact and public representative of Parkland’s premier women-centered entrepreneurship hub. You will act as the public spokesperson, promoter, and run day-to-day operations of the program. You will liaise with the program staff in Flin Flon as well as the project management team based out of CF Parkland and CF Greenstone. It will be your responsibility to ensure our client experience is always high-quality and predictable.

Core Responsibilities

As a member of Community Futures Parkland’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Program, you will be central in the planning and execution of the day-to-day operations of the Program. The specific responsibilities for this role will include:

Programming & Resource Development:

  • Develop comprehensive and customizable resource toolbox for rurally-based entrepreneurs
  • Develop programming ideal for entrepreneurs at every stage: from start-up to growth orientation
  • Organize and schedule in-house professional services with qualified, local experts
  • Develop relationships with and coordinate participation of partnering service providers that will contribute to program delivery
  • Facilitate client introductions and referrals to relevant service providers


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive regional marketing campaign to inform and raise awareness within local communities about new service and programs available
  • Expand the program’s public profile through engagement with existing and creation of new networks including those in non-profit, for-profit, academia, and all levels of government
  • Assist with organization of promotional activities, networking opportunities, and public events

Reporting & Evaluation:

  • Track delivery against client identified needs
  • Manage client data information system
  • Evaluate progress against strategic goals
  • Track programming and report of effectiveness and impact
  • Track and prepare performance indicators that will be shared with program funders

Assist with Partnerships and Sponsorships:

  • Identify prospective partners located in both rural and urban areas that will enhance client experience
  • Encourage urban-centered service providers and prospective partners to increase their reach into rural communities
  • Initiate and execute new revenue generation means via public/governmental and corporate contributions

  • You have the flexibility to be at events early in the morning, over lunch, in the evenings, and over the occasional weekend
  • You have post-secondary education in a related field: Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Commerce
  • You have prior experience as a small business consultant (this is considered an asset)
  • You have experience working with and planning for the success of women entrepreneurs in a rural/northern context
  • You’re passionate about living rurally

Salary, benefits & perks

  • Full time (37.5 hours/week) based out of Dauphin, MB
  • 4 year term position with possibility for extension based on funding and performance
  • $55,000-$65,000 dependent on experience and qualifications
