Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, our non-profit, community serving organizations are facing significant challenges: closure of facilities, discontinuing services, reductions in revenue generation, cancellation of events and limited fundraising opportunities needed to support operations.

For 2020/21, CF West Interlake will be redirecting our ICDPSI resources to provide immediate support to our non-profit, social enterprises most deeply impacted. Grants of up to $1000 will be made available to non-profit organizations to assist with efforts needed to meet the Covid 19 challenge (equipment or materials needed to meet public health guidelines) or to cover regular operating costs necessary to continue operations. This funding will be considered one-time only emergency response funding to organizations that have not received other program assistance or have sufficient funds to sustain the organization.

Eligible Organizations:

  • Must be a non-profit and/or social enterprise organization based in the West Interlake Region and have been in operation since April 1, 2019. Financial statements for the years ending in 2019 and 2020 must be provided.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the negative economic impact experienced due to Covid 19. This will be evidenced by comparison between previous years’ financial statements showing normal revenues and expenditures.
  • Must provide information on how operations will be adjusted to address the current situation.

Ineligible Organizations:

  • Organizations government owned or receiving public funding to support the basic operations (tax levy contributions, uninterrupted public operating funding).
  • Organizations that have reserve or saving funds necessary to sustain the organization through 2021. Financial statements for the years ending in 2019 and 2020 must be provided.
  • Organizations that have received Government sponsored Covid relief funding already.

Funding Approval Process:

The CF West Interlake CAP Committee will review all completed applications and award funding based on the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated need for funding and organization survival
  • Impact of organization’s activities on the community and region
  • Access to other funding options
  • Organization’s pre-covid sustainability

Applications not accompanied by the required financial information and documentation will not be considered. The committee may recommend approvals up to a maximum of $1,000 for any single application. All applicants will be informed of the committee’s decision by February 5, 2021.

Reporting Requirements: Any organization approved for funding must sign a written acknowledgement that the funds will be used for the purpose of sustaining the organization and agreeing to provide a year end operational and financial updated on the organization by January 15, 2022. Failure to meet reporting requirements will disqualify applicants from future ICDPSI or grant funding from CF West Interlake.

Deadline for Applications: Completed applications and required documentation must be received by CF West Interlake by 4:00 p.m., January 25, 2021. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Click here to apply.
