Rural Innovation Manitoba

 Community Futures Westman has partnered with the Rural Development Institute at Brandon University on a research project that will provide tools to strengthen the agri-food industry.  The research will address the systemic barriers that affect the commercialization cycle as experience by innovators and stakeholders in the Manitoba agri-food industry.  By generating a range of strategies, tools and support for agri-food innovators, researchers are expected to improve export and manufacturing opportunities in rural Manitoba, facilitating entrepreneurship.  Click here for the Project Fact Sheet.

Westman Entrepreneurial Centre:

Westman Entrepreneurial Centre (WEC) is the first knowledge-based business incubator in Westman. The 4000 square foot facility is located at 940 Princess Avenue in Brandon, MB - the heart of downtown. The facility has 12 offices, a boardroom with speaker phone and projector, video-conferencing, network access to printer, scanner and copier, kitchen with microwave and refridgerator, 7 days a week, 24 hour access, secured wired and wireless network, network attached torage, dedicated space for hosting clients server, remote data back-up service, 10 Mbps bi-directional internet access and ulti-tenant IP based telephone system.
