Made in Manitoba Meet & Match” is the first business to business (B2B) networking event of its kind held in the Eastman region. This event is designed to match Manitoba business owners with Made in Manitoba business products and services. The goals of this event are to connect Manitoba businesses; create mutually beneficial collaborations; and keep money circulating in Manitoba for a stronger economy.

You can participate in one of two ways:

1) Showcasers have Made in Manitoba products and services and will be granted booth display space at the event. Spaces are limited and applications will be reviewed and approved on a first come, first serve basis. 2) Networkers are Manitoba businesses or business support agencies that can connect with Showcasers and other business owners at the event to explore partnership opportunities. The event will feature a keynote speaker from Food & Beverage Manitoba, Executive Director David Shambrock (bio below). Other speakers from local businesses will also be invited to speak about successful partnerships they have made with other Manitoba businesses. Examples include: using Manitoba supplies in product development; selling Manitoba products on consignment in your store; and/or using Manitoba grown food in your restaurant.

Mr. David Shambrock is the Executive Director of Food & Beverage Manitoba, an industry trade association that holds over 300 member companies that sell to retail grocery, food service, and industrial markets. He is responsible for all of the associations training, human resources and marketing programs. He is directly involved with the association's business advisory and commercialization services for entrepreneurs and small-scale food processors.

Prior to working with Food & Beverage Manitoba, Mr. Shambrock worked for the Province of Manitoba's Economic Innovation and Technology Council. He held several positions as a food industry specialist and as the Council's marketing director. Before leaving the public sector, he served as the Director of the Food Development Centre in Portage la Prairie where he developed new networks and strategic partnerships with industry, universities, and other R&D institutions.

Mr. Shambrock also serves as Chairman of the Canadian Food Innovators, an organization that supports the development of collaborative R&D projects from close to 2,000 food and beverage processing companies from all regions of Canada.

Mr. Shambrock runs a management consulting practise, providing services in the areas of strategic planning, marketing, new product development and commercialization. He works closely with the agri-food industry to produce feasibility studies, marketing plans and business plans. Specializing in the analysis of new high value processing opportunities, he has worked for companies of all sizes, seeking solutions to technical, regulatory and business-related issues.

Mr. Shambrock holds graduate degrees in Food Science and Business Administration and is a Certified Management Consultant. He has served on many national Boards and Committees.
