CFWR is here to support rural business succession and transition for both buyers and sellers. Partnership with Venture Connect allows rural Manitoba businesses a unique opportunity to access a variety of free resources and tools. Contact our office for more information resources and we can connect you with Venture Connect. Confidentiality is assured in business succession coaching and valuation services.  

Self-Employment Program

CFWR administers the Self-Employment Program (SE) for the North Eastman region on behalf of Employment Manitoba. The SE Program provides an opportunity for unemployed individuals to start their own business while collecting their employment insurance benefits. SE clients work with our Business Development Coordinator who assists them with a business plan, marketing, financial analysis and counseling/monitoring for the duration of the program.

To be eligible you must either…

✅ be currently receiving employment insurance benefits,

✅ be eligible for employment insurance benefits,

✅ have had an employment insurance claim within the past five years, or

✅ have had a maternity/paternity claim within the past five years.
